Tips for Using Notes, Performance Settings and Reverse Screen Sharing

Just when you were getting the hang of everything, we went and added a few more nifty features. Try ‘em out and let us know what you think!

Notes

So, you click the Notes icon, jot down a few things to remember, and then when you close the session *poof!* where do they go? They end up in your Session Report, which is cool because then you have your notes right next to all your other session data. You just have to wait a bit for the report to generate after your session ends.

Performance Settings

Where do you find these? Right-click your system tray icon, click Preferences and select the Screen Sharing category. Voila! Generally, the slower your customer’s Internet connection, the more Performance Settings you’ll want to select to eliminate unnecessary bells and whistles that can slow you down. Don’t overlook the color quality option field, as that has a big impact on speed and appearance.

Reverse Screen Sharing

Click the Screen Sharing icon and you’ll now see a Show My Screen option.

This is also known as Two-Way Screen Sharing, meaning that now both you and your customer can show your screens to each other. This way, you can not only see the problem on your customer’s screen, you can show them a possible solution on your own.

Reverse Screen Sharing is meant to be kind of an educational tool, but it has several applications: You can demo new software you’d like your customer to buy, present reports on the service you’ve provided, conduct one-on-one tutorials, show pictures of your kids share whatever you need to share.
