- End of life for GoToAssist (Customer) OS < 4.2 App for Android
Removal of GoToAssist Customer OS < 4.2 App for Android
- The GoToAssist (Customer) OS < 4.2 app for Android will no longer be available for download from the Google Play store for new customers. Any customers who currently have the app installed can continue to use it to join support sessions, and will remain unaffected by this discontinuation. However, after September 2017, the app will no longer support customers on mobile devices running Android OS 4.0.X (Ice Cream Sandwich) or 4.1.X (Jellybean), and will require Android OS 4.2.X (Jellybean MR 1) or later and a download of the GoToAssist (Customer) app in order to join support sessions. - Note that the “OS <4.2” app was specifically intended for GoToAssist Remote Support customers with mobile devices running Android OS 4.0.X (Ice Cream Sandwich) or 4.1.X (Jellybean) who needed to share their screen with their GoToAssist agent and allow them full remote control. New customers running either of these Android versions on their mobile device will not see any GoToAssist (Customer) apps in the Google Play Store; only customers using mobile devices running Android OS 4.2.X (Jellybean MR 1) or later will see the “regular” GoToAssist (Customer) app available for download.
