Redirect Samsung Knox users to download correct app
- Customers whose Samsung devices are running Android OS 4.2 (Jellybean MR1) or newer will now be redirected to Google Play store to download the correct version of the GoToAssist (Customer) app for Android when they attempt to join a support session from https://www.fastsupport.com. Previously, the GoToAssist (Customer) app for Android supported all versions of Android running Android OS 4.1 (Ice Cream Sandwich) or newer. However, since September 25, 2015, a new GoToAssist (Customer) app was debuted, which introduced support for Samsung Knox on Samsung devices running Android OS 4.2 (Jellybean MR1) or newer. This required these GoToAssist customers to download the newest GoToAssist (Customer) app so they could be prompted to sign the Samsung Knox End User License Agreement (EULA) and join a support session from their Android device.
- Additionally, the original app was re-branded to GoToAssist (Customer) OS < 4.2, which now only supports devices running Android OS 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and 4.1 (Jellybean). These two versions of Android OS do not support Samsung Knox, and therefore these customers remained unaffected by the latest app release.
- A fix was implemented to correct a security vulnerability on https://www.fastsupport.com.
