GoToAssist Remote Support (v3.1, b1251) Release Notes

Released December 21, 2016 (PST)

SUMMARY:

  • Various bug fixes and improvements

Bug Fixes

  • Fix for preventing the customer app from crashing when file transfer is used between the customer and an agent (i.e., with file transfer permissions) and whose session includes other agents (i.e., using session collaboration) that are lacking file transfer capabilities.  (GTARS-3186)
  • Fix for successfully connecting to an unattended machine after the agent logs back in to their account from an automatic logoff.  Previously, if the agent started connecting to their unattended machine and was logged off automatically during the connection attempt, their connection was not established after logging back in to their account.  (GTARS-6097)
  • Fix for allowing the following actions to occur after an agent logs back in to their account from an automatic logoff:
    • Establishing a connection (GTARS-6427)
    • Renaming (GTARS-6161)
    • Deleting (GTARS-6336)
    • Resetting connection (GTARS-6337)
    • Checking for an update (GTARS-6338)
    • Waking a sleeping unattended machine (Wake-on-LAN)  (6340)
  • Fix for soft lockout dialog box displaying the correct lockout time of 5 minutes due to typing an incorrect password 5 times.  Previously, the dialog box would display a soft lockout of 1 minute.  (GTARS-6446)
  • Fix for preventing the GoToAssist Customer application from uninstalling at session end when the GoToAssist Customer Attended standalone application is used to join a session.  Additionally, it is no longer possible in the GoToAssist Remote Support agent desktop application to uninstall the GoToAssist Customer application at session end if the session is not running as a service.  Therefore, it is no longer possible for agents to combine the following settings in Preferences:  (GTARS-6752,
    • Uncheck “Run support sessions as a service on startup” box
    • Check “Uninstall GoToAssist when the session ends” box
  • Fix for preventing the GoToAssist agent desktop application from becoming unresponsive when connected in a session in full-screen mode and powering on a device from their unattended machine list.  (GTARS-6913)
  • Fix for installing and displaying one instance of the GoToAssist Customer application when using the MSI installer.  Previously, 2 program entries of the GoToAssist Customer application were displayed in the Programs & Features list of installed applications in Windows when the MSI installation method was used.  (GTARS-7240)
  • Fix for disallowing the Connect button to be clicked more than once when connecting to an unattended machine.  (GTARS-7246)
  • Fix for preventing the GoToAssist agent desktop application on Mac from crashing when selecting the “Adjust Unattended Version” option while connecting to an unattended machine with an older build.  (GTARS-7266)
  • Fix for preventing the GoToAssist agent desktop application from becoming unresponsive when the agent uses the stored password feature to log in to a customer’s unattended machine running Windows 8 or later.  Previously, the application would freeze, and a new connection would have to be made to the machine once again.  (GTARS-370)
  • Fix for displaying the login dialog box in front of the unattended machine list when an agent logs back in to their account from an automatic logoff.  (GTARS-6274)
  • Fix for known issue in a previous release where the unattended machine would become stuck in a login state when attempting to use a stored password while the Windows 10 “Lock Screen” is displayed.  Agents can now successfully log in to unattended machines running Windows 10 using a stored password without issue.  (GTARS-6958)
  • Fix for preventing the login dialog box from appearing more than once when attempting to log in to the GoToAssist agent desktop application.  (GTARS-6249)
  • Fix for preventing the GoToAssist agent desktop application from crashing on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) after ending a session.  (GTARS-6644)
  • Improvements were made to display toast messages correctly while in session.  (GTARS-7059)
  • Improvements were made to the color scheme and design of the multi-monitor placement window to match the updated look and feel of the GoToAssist agent desktop application.  (GTARS-6776)
  • Fix for allowing the Enter key to be used when selecting Preferences with drop-down menus (i.e., Language on the General tab and Time for Inactivity Timeout on the Unattended Support tab).  Previously, when using the Enter key to select a drop-down menu setting, the Preferences window would close.  (GTARS-7087)
  • Fix for displaying the correct version number in the Programs & Features window after installing the GoToAssist Customer application using the MSI installer.  (GTARS-7456)
