GoToAssist Seeit App for Android (v6.5) Release Notes

What’s New?

New In-App Update Notifications

  • Customers that join GoToAssist Seeit sessions from their Android device are now notified within the app if the version they have installed is no longer current or expired (i.e., no longer supported).  (GTAS-29)
  • Customers will see varying update notifications display, depending on the version of their app, as follows:
    • This app version will expire soon.  Do you want to update? – This notification appears after your session has ended if your app version is no longer up to date.
      • Tap Update to be redirected to the Google Play Store to download the latest version of GoToAssist Seeit.
      • Tap Not Now to if you do not want to update the GoToAssist Seeit app yet, and you will be able to continue joining sessions using your currently installed version.  This will display the session end dialog.
      • Tap Don’t remind me until next version if you do not want to update the GoToAssist Seeit app yet, and want to wait until the next version is released to be reminded to update.  This will display the session end dialog. ExpireSoonShell.png
    • Your version has expired.  Please update to the current version – This notification appears immediately when you attempt to join a session and your app version is no longer supported.  This requires you to update the app in order to join a GoToAssist Seeit session.
      • Tap Update to be redirected to the Google Play Store to download the latest version of GoToAssist Seeit.
      • Tap Close to return to the app Home screen.  You will be unable to join a GoToAssist Session until you have updated the app from the Google Play Store.

VersionExpired

Improvements to Customer Join Flow via Email and Text Message Invitations

  • Customers that use an email or text message invitation to join a GoToAssist Seeit session from their mobile device running Android OS 6.0.x (Marshmallow) or later are now launched directly into the app to connect to the session if the app is already installed.  Previously (Android app versions 6.3 and 6.4), customers would tap the invitation link, but then be additionally be prompted (within the invitation) to tap the GoToAssist Seeit app to join the session.  (GTAS-213)
    • Note:  Customers running Android OS 5.0.x or earlier remain unaffected, and will not experience any changes in their join flow process.

Bug Fix

  • A fix was implemented to allow the camera sharing preview image to adjust accordingly when the mobile device is rotated.  (GTAS-253)
